Orlistat blocks the breakdown of dietary fats in the intestine & the body cannot absorb this fat until it is broken into smaller pieces. That is, it should not cause your birth control to be less effective. In the Compendium of Pharmaceuticals & Specialties the manufacturer of Orlistat indicates that there is no interaction between orlistat & birth control pills.
